Backgammon Information and Links

In our shop in Baker Street in London, we are often asked for information about where to play backgammon. We hope this web page will provide you with some ideas. If you have any further queries about playing backgammon, international player has very kindly agreed to answer them. Please note that all queries about the shop and our stock should, of course, email BCM not Martin! Feel free to send BCM any updates or corrections to the material given here.
 

Another source of backgammon information is the British Isles Backgammon Association (BIBA). Visit their website or email their information desk. BIBA holds regular tournaments (mainly in Coventry). In the BIBA magazine you can find lists of tournaments, and also lists of clubs. Please, contact BIBA directly, as we do not currently stock their magazine. There are several places where you can play backgammon in London. These include the Fox Reformed, Stoke Newington Church Street (Mondays), and The King's Arms, Ealing (Wednesdays and Sundays). On Monday nights it is also possible to play in Crockford's Casino, temporarily relocated to the Palm Beach Casino in Berkeley Street. For Crockford's, you need to be a member or a guest of a member; males have to wear a jacket and tie. The entry fee for Crockford's is £200; the prizes are good.
 

The Regency Backgammon Club is located at Park Mansions, Vivian Avenue, Hendon (in London). It is open seven days a week, 12 noon until 11:30 pm, with a licensed bar and restaurant. The dress code is smart casual. The club is a member of the World-Wide Backgammon Federation and uses WBF rules for all its tournaments.
